What is Kidney Cancer?

There is no time to lose when RCC is suspected. This is why your treatment will start the day following your arrival in Israel. First, one of our coordinators will pick you up for the laboratory tests. You will then have a whole body CT, which will help determine (based on contrast uptake intensity) the exact location of the tumour and whether extra-renal spread is present. An abdominal US Doppler scan (performed by an expert radiologist) will follow. The results will be available immediately following the investigations. In cases where decrease in the affected kidney’s function is suspected, a DMSA scan is also performed.

Treatment

Following the investigation, you will be referred to one of Israel’s top urologic oncologists, who will draft the treatment protocol. If a surgery is indicated, it will take place at the state-of-the-art private Assuta Hospital.
