Prof. Ilan Ron is the head of Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center’s (Ichilov Hospital) Department of Oncology. His fields of expertise are oncology and radiotherapy, treatment of gastrointestinal tract malignancies (stomach, duodenum, liver, colon), melanoma and breast cancer. Presently he serves as associate professor of Oncology at Tel Aviv University and heads the Sourasky’s Laboratory for Applied Cancer Research.
Prof. Ron received his MD from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer Sheva, Israel in 1986. He also holds a BA in oncology from Tel Aviv University’s Sacker School of Medicine and a Master’s degree in Health Administration from CUNY. Additionally, he trained at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and at Cookridge Hospital in Leeds, UK. He has over 20 years of experience in integrative cancer treatment (medicinal + radiation therapy).
Alongside treating patients, Prof. Ilan Ron has been published over 80 times in medical journals and has spoken at over 100 medical conferences. He plays an active part at Tel Aviv University’s Sackler School of Medicine, where he shares his vast experience with the next generations of Israeli oncologists.
Prof. Ilan Ron’s treatment begins with an in-depth investigation of the patient’s anamnesis, and thorough diagnostics, aimed at determining the exact stage of the disease and the extent of its spread. This is performed utilizing the most up-to-date technologies.
