Dr Amir Onn is a world-renowned pulmonologist. Presently he heads the The Institute of Pulmonology at the Chaim Sheba Hospital. As part of his post-doctoral fellowship he served as an onco-pulmonologist at the MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, TX) between 2000 and 2006, where he took part in research of prospective diagnostic techniques and innovative treatment methods. He has also received Merck Israel’s Young Investigator Award for Outstanding Original Research (role of induced sputum in diagnosis of asthma).
Dr. Onn is considered one of the world’s foremost experts on thoracic tumours. He is regularly invited to speak at international medical conferences and has published more than 45 papers. He is fluent in English and Hebrew.

Dr. Amir Onn graduated Jerusalem’s Hebrew University’s Hadassah School of Medicine in 1990. He then interned at Sourasky Medical Center between 1991 and 1992. His residency and fellowship, which finished in 1997 and 1999 respectively, took place at the same facility. Dr. Onn’s main fields of expertise are cancers of lungs, bronchi, trachea, mediastinum and treatment of COPL. In 2011 he oversaw Israel’s first interdisciplinary conference dealing with pulmonary malignancies.
