Prostatitis Treatment in Israel

Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate gland. The condition predominantly affects men aged 36-50. Most commonly, it is caused by bacteria from the urinary tract; however in many cases the underlying reasons for its development remain unknown. Risk factors include recent UTIs, HIV or AIDS, prostatic hyperplasia, having a urinary catheter, and having been diagnosed with the condition before. Listed below is the prostatitis treatment in Israel program:

Prostatitis Treatment in Israel

The basic program (when a prostate tumour is not suspected so biopsy isn’t required) includes the following procedures:

  • Comprehensive blood workup (including CBC, CMP, electrolyte levels, lipid profile, testosterone, PSA (free and bound) coagulation factors, ESR and VDRL)
  • Urine tests (urinalysis and culture)
  • Urine test for STDs
  • Urinary tract US scan (including assessment of PVR)
  • Urologist consultation

Length of diagnostics stage: 3-4 business days.

The investigations will take place at the state-of-the-art Assuta Hospital, under the supervision of a leading Israeli urologist, who will determine the appropriate prostatitis treatment protocol based on the diagnostics’ results.
