Hip Replacement Surgery in Israel
Hip replacement surgery is an effective way of regaining lower limb function in cases when conservative treatment methods (i.e. with NSAIDs) no longer help.

Hip Replacement in Israel
The price of our treatment program is comprised of the following:
- X-ray of hip joints (in two projections)
- Routine blood tests
- Orthopedist’s exam
- Pre-operative preparation (ECG, Chest X-ray, anesthesiologist consultation)
- Joint prostheses
- Surgery (lasts approx. 1.5 hours) and up to 7 days of hospitalization at a semi-private room at Assuta Hospital’s Orthopedic Department
- 10 days of follow-up outpatient care following your discharge

You can expect to be given the all clear to go home on the 17th post-operative day.
Please also note that following the procedure you will require a walker for a short period of time.
Contrary to a common misconception, there is no need for rehabilitation following the procedure! According to Israeli treatment protocols, the only exercise you’ll need to do is adduction/abduction during the first 4-6 weeks following the surgery. This is done at home, and there’s absolutely no need for you to go to a rehabilitation center.
If you require bilateral hip joint replacement, you will first undergo replacement of the more severely worn joint. The second joint will be operated on 4 to 6 months later.
You will need to have a family member or friend to stay with you for 10 days following your discharge from the hospital. During this time you will have periodic follow-ups with your operating orthopedic surgeon.
